If you can contact Peter Chisolm, his father used to race there & I was told that he has lots of old programs & pics that he may share.

Being originally from Bathurst my self , In basicly grew up in that era of racing at Danny's SpeedBowl, some names that might ring a bell to some people include, Murray Branch,Joe Cuture,Lindsey Tozer,Jamie Martin, Brice hornbrook, Keith Daley, Preston Smith, Don How, Legeri Roy , Victor Godin.  just a few names that come to mind when i think back to the Danny's SpeedBowl Days , and some of the best driver to come out of that track

I don't have any photos at Danny's from the racing days. If anyone sends them, I'll gladly post them.

Kevin,

Thanks for the info on the tracks in Chatham. What years would these have been in operation? Any other info that you can provide would be appreciated. I'll add these 2 to the track database.

Shark, you were to young to remember,9months old,you were just about born on a race track,it is in your blood.Shark,Late Father & Brother of Shark. The Chatham track was running in 1965.OHHH waht a dirt track...We would be so full of dirt when the race finished, you would think we had rolled in the dirt.It drew VERY large crowds. We could see very well. The spectators were up a hill so we could see the race just great. Then the race started in Douglastown in 1966.WE sure had great racers then, including Sharks Late Father, the Late Gerald Ryan & many more.I had alot of names I could dig up.We also had photos,,BUT think Shark may have them now.YES it sure does bring back memories, LIKE about 'Wild Bill',,,& how he would do the # 8 they had at that track...I think he was really off his rocker.Goodness he was one lucky dude!!!The MacAllister Brothers were really good. The McRaes,,,they raced for years, maybe some are still racing.Yup old Memories they are.We all hope to see you up this way at Sharks 'Speedie Dundee' race track this summer.About ½ mile from Bathurst, village called Dundee. You are all welcome.

The Dundee races are definitely entertaining.  The officials are trying to keep it organized and are doing a good job.  Unfortunately you get some %$#$hole who has to ruin it for everyone like this past sunday in the "race what you brought" event this jackass decided to turn it into a demo derby and wrecked two other drivers cars.  These cars have no roll cages or proper harness, someone could have been seriously hurt.  The moron is supposed to be barred from racing at this track and hopefully this decision sticks.  Good racing and the ATV races are something to see. If you are in the area the races are scheduled every second sunday, get out and support the local talent.

Hi you all, glad to see SO many interested in 'DIRT TRACK RACING'.

To answer 'dundee racers' question? Mark the shark 55, is in it Larry Roy track, up in Dundee ? And is in it him, that owned the Dalhousier Rangers ? The race track is owned by 4 great & smart guys.Larry is one of them{He is also Manager of the Rangers,,does not own the Rangers Hockey Team,,loll,},Serge Lavallee,Mark/Shark Benoit,Ronald Savoie & also we have to say thank you too all volunteers, with out them there would NOT be a Race Track.Larrys' Parents',Serges' Parents,Mark's Wife,{& I,Mom-of-Shark,photographer,,see all the pictures on MY website nascar-bet.com,Roland Maltais & his Wife and thier team markers, counters,& flaggers.Plus many others too numerous, also afraid I may miss one.

This year is looking pretty good.Temperature permitting Races should get under way in June.Repairs including expanding of track, seating, and much more changes will be taking place.Another Racers catagory will be added. Also the number of racers are to double this year. All in all looks like one great & good year coming up.

I must & will take this time to thank all volunteers that helped 'Speedy Dundee' be sucessful in there first year & hope that they will be around to help out this coming year 2007.KEEP checking my website for news & events about the Race Track & up coming dates.

Chat soon Guys, have a great year.Your all welcome to come up our way & visit the 'Speedy Dundee' Racing facilities.Bring a Race Car with you,may want to try our track out, loll.

Jason, I will be looking out for #94 Honda. I will be watching,.Would not miss a race for all the money in the China.

Shark will have his own website up www.speedy-dundee.com soon.He is one busy devil. And he does not want help from me!! Its' his baby!!! DARN IT!!!!  I will have to sit in the back-ground on this one,....

I will have it up on my site www.nascar-bet.com  when it becomes ready.

Also in other news Sharks' Brother Denis #30 Nova is unable to race this year because of a bad back injury from work.Missing the hectic pit area & racing is going to kill him more then the pain. His Nova he has put up for sale,,EVEN his lawn mover is up for sale!!!

WOW now that was painful for him, had to make the decision as he will NO longer beable to race.

See you beginning of June Guys.Wish all YOU RACERS LUCK!! HAVE A GREAT SEASON
