Wow, where to start.  Although I was at Atlantic Speedway when I was real young, my first memories of going to the races were at Onslow.  The guys who sat in the big pine trees off of the backstretch, the night Rollie sailed off of turn three and landed on someones flatdeck, the night the tow truck rolled over in turn two.  The brand new Mustang that sailed over turn one and into the ditch during spectator drags.  Wow, Jr. Kelly, Greg Sewart, Rick Upham, the two brothers #4 and #96 with the Camaros, Dale Richardson, Cy Harvey, Frank Fraser.  Exotic Bodies, tight racing, lots of fans, radio broadcasts... a racetrack that equalized the gear... the heydays of Onslow Speedway were what racing should be!

mike i remember all those events you mention.i too went to atlantic speedway but i was too young to remember much of it,i guess in a way onslow is where i was truly introduced to the great sport of stock car racing that still consumes me to this day.that was a great track and scotia speedworld is fine but onslow had real character not to mention those that ran there.that was our family outing every sunday from sackville, dad even worked on track clean up for a time and i loved going every week, still wish it was going i'd be there in an instant.we got riverside redone now if we could only find someone to do the same to onslow.onslow in our memories forever.

I am from Nova Scotia and in 1984 when we toured the Maritimes in the Hobby Class we wanted to book a show at Onslow Speedway but it was closed.  My dream is to one day promote a race track. My wife wants to settle in NS and I'm wondering if the track could be used again on a weekly basis. Maybe a good reason to get back home.  I have to get out of my race car first...that would be the toughest decision of all.

I was looking at it today, and it was in very rough shape. Nothing like these pictures dictate.
