Mosport Ascot North (1989)
Mosport International Speedway (1989-1997)
Mosport Speedway (1998-2013)

Track Configurations:
1/2 mile clay oval (1989)
1/2 mile paved oval (1989-present)

  • Located on the same property as the Mosport road course, but well outside the road course
  • Was originally build as a clay oval in the spring of 1989
  • A USAC Midget and Sprint Car event that year was cancelled after the Midgets tore up the track surface
  • The track was paved late that summer and a few nights of racing on the paved oval were conducted in the fall
  • Regular Saturday night racing began in 1990
  • Paul Heffernan was the promoter from 1989-1991
  • Hosted ISMA Supermodifieds from 1991-1994
  • Hosted the American-Canadian Tour from 1990-1994
  • Hosted the CASCAR Super Series in 1992 and then from 1998 to 2006
  • Hosted the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2007 - 2013. Promotion was taken over by the Mosport Park management starting in 1992
  • Wayne Ferguson was Race Director from 1992-1994
  • Brian Bassett became Race Director during the 1994 season
  • Introduced "King of the Hill" in 1996 where 2 fans driving their street cars compete in a 1 lap shoot-out
  • Last event was July 27, 2013 - it was rained out
  • Track was closed to allow for expansion of the driver development circuit
