  • Airfield was originally built as part of the British Commonwealt Air Training Plan during the Second World War
  • Events were organized by the Ottawa Light Car Club (now the Motorsport Club of Ottawa)
  • First event was October 19, 1952
  • First CASC santioned event was Sept 6, 1953
  • Two spectators were killed and eleven injured in August 1955 when a car went out of control and through the fencing
  • The people were standing in a non-spectator area
  • Government revoked the rights to use the Carp facility after this event
