Notes:
  • Owned by Charlie Greenley who had built the original Speedway Park in Ontario
  • Construction work was done by Percy, Reg and Russell Booth
  • The original plan was to use on the unused Chinook Jockey Club horse track on Macleod Trail but local zoning and opposition from residents put an end to it
  • Greenley found a location slightly farther south for the track
  • Track was opened on Sept 1, 1952
  • Sold to Norman Becker in Feb 1955
  • Reg Booth stayed on as track manager
  • Ran Friday night in 1955
  • Ran Wednesday night in 1956
  • A rule change in August 1956 allowed engine modifications - previously, the engines were stock
  • The drivers were members of the Calgary Auto Racing Club beginning in 1956
  • Ran Thursday night in 1957
  • Pat Meehan became the promoter in 1957, replacing Reg Booth
  • Car counts dropped after the rule changes that allowed modified cars to compete
