Owned by Charlie Greenley who had built the original Speedway Park in Ontario
Construction work was done by Percy, Reg and Russell Booth
The original plan was to use on the unused Chinook Jockey Club horse track on Macleod Trail but local zoning and opposition from residents put an end to it
Greenley found a location slightly farther south for the track
Track was opened on Sept 1, 1952
Sold to Norman Becker in Feb 1955
Reg Booth stayed on as track manager

A rule change in August 1956 allowed engine modifications - previously, the engines were stock
